Programs & Engagement Associate

The Programs & Engagement Associate serves as a forward-facing representative of the Federation to the Dallas Jewish Community and is an integral member of the Federation’s Impact Division, helping to ensure opportunities for community members, especially today’s teens, to celebrate, explore, and connect with Jewish life and learning in meaningful ways. The primary program that this staff member will be responsible for overseeing is Dallas Israel Teen Tour, an immersive summer travel experience to Israel. Other responsibilities include supporting Federation’s evolving strategy for engagement across segments, including kids and teens, young adults, families, and adults.
· Manage Dallas Israel Teen Tour
- Cultivate and manage partnerships with community agencies, providing consultation and coordination for various teen engagement initiatives.
- Convene and support the Jewish Youth Professionals Council, collaborating with local youth professionals.
- Maintain and analyze a teen database to assess engagement trends, education impact, and mental health needs, informing the Federation’s evolving strategy.
- Engage actively with young adults in the community through programming and outreach efforts.
- Foster relationships with Rabbis, educators, and youth directors in the Dallas area to increase awareness and promotion of the Federation’s teen engagement programs.
- Support Outreach & Engagement efforts to engage young families, young adults, and midlifers
- Work closely with the Director of Programs and Engagement to identify new opportunities for connecting with young families, young adults, and adults 50+.
Essential Job Functions for Dallas Israel Teen Tour
- Develop, manage, and oversee the logistics of the annual three-week teen trip to Israel, including travel arrangements, operator coordination, registration, and marketing efforts.
- Lead the RootOne grant process, voucher distribution, and pre-trip education modules.
- Supervise three part-time trip counselors, ensuring effective program execution and participant engagement.
- Collaborate with the Dallas Israel Teen Tour Lay Committee to facilitate trip planning and fundraising efforts.
- Strengthen teen connections to Israel through pre-trip and post-trip educational experiences.
- Meet with community leaders, Rabbis, educators, and youth directors to enhance program visibility and participation.
- Engage directly with teens and parents to promote the Israel Experience and encourage continued involvement post-trip.
- Develop and manage the Teen Tour budget.
- Oversee scholarships and incentives, including RootOne vouchers and Federation Israel scholarships, to expand participation.
Increase awareness of immersive Israel travel opportunities, including Masa Gap Year programs and other young adult initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Strong knowledge of Israeli and Jewish history, culture, and Judaism.
Experience: Minimum of three years of professional experience, with preference for experience managing programs for or engaging working with children, teens or young adults., with strong knowledge of Israeli and Jewish history, culture, and Judaism.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to travel to Israel each summer for three weeks.
- Positive attitude with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to remain non-partisan in all professional interactions.
Social media skills preferred.
