DEPARTMENT: Foundation

REPORTS TO: Chief Philanthropy Officer

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The ideal candidate must be passionate about women’s issues and knowledgeable about advocacy for Jewish women and girls. The candidate should be an inspirational leader with the ability to motivate volunteers and should have experience in community outreach and be an exceptional networker.

ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE: The Director may have direct interaction with the professionals on the Jewish Federation of Broward County’s Financial Resource Development team and administrative staff. Staffs the Jewish Women’s Foundation Committee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop strategies and goals to increase the number of Trustees and expand the scope of the programs and community outreach;

· Increase visibility and awareness of the purpose and achievements of the JWF within Broward County;

· Facilitate communication with Trustees and the community through mailings, press releases and media;

· Secure additional income opportunities through sponsorships and fundraising;

· Manage Trustee membership, including dues, new and renewed Trustee documentation;

· Manage the Friends of the JWF account

· Create, execute and actively manage the operations and activities of the JWF with the advice and consent of the Trustees.

· Administer and oversee financial policies including grant disbursements, events, etc.

· Manage and oversee Governance Principles

· Facilitate and coordinate administration of committee and sub-committees.

· Create reports for the Jewish Federation of Broward County on grants, programs, activities, financials, etc.

· Work with the Marketing/Communication team to plan and execute meetings and events

· Manage Social Media campaign

· Represent JWF and participate with the opportunities presented by the Jewish Women’s Funders Network (JWFN)

· Plan and execute annual grant cycles, implement educational programming, engage new Trustees, oversee the financial activities, including administering financial policies, authorizing disbursements, timely billing of trustees, and create annual budget.

· Grant funding to programs that support the mission and vision of the JWF and are in accordance with established grant guidelines.

· Communicate with all prospective grantees and ensure that benchmarks for grants are being met

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or higher in the form of education in finance, business, communications, or related field. Minimum of 3 years work experience in planned giving, fundraising or business development. Prior experience leading a women’s group in the Jewish community. Ability to work with diverse groups of donors, highly organized and motivated, self-starter with exceptional follow through, excellent communication skills, comfort working with high net worth individuals, and knowledge and familiarity with Jewish heritage and customs. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point), social media tools and the ability to quickly master new software. Must be detail-oriented. Strong organizational skills a must with the ability to meet deadlines and multitask.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. short distances. Intermittent physical effort required in setting up and breaking down event materials. Must be able to sit / stand extended periods of time. Position requires stamina to work extended day, include early morning, evening and weekend events/meetings in addition to the regular work schedule.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires flexibility with the ability to focus on detail while handling multiple tasks and periods of frequent interruptions. Must be able to plan and organize assignments independently, to create and develop research and to present information effectively to groups.

STATUS AND SCOPE: Initiate and respond to ongoing contacts with Federation professionals, donors, volunteers and members of the community.

POSITION LOCATION: Position is based in Davie at the Jewish Federation of Broward County.
