Lead Toddler Teacher

We are seeking a warm, attentive, and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our caring and collaborative teaching team. As a toddler teacher, you will provide a consistent, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest learners during their most formative years.
Gan Yeladim Preschool boasts a unique partnership between the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo and Chabad House of Toledo. It is truly a one-of-a kind boutique preschool, which currently serves children aged 18 months to 4 years across two classrooms,
We maintain a healthy, nurturing, and engaging environment for children where all social, emotional, and cognitive developmental needs are addressed. Opportunities are provided for children to take responsibility, make decisions, and learn through play.
We help children recognize the interrelationships of tangible things and ideas by focusing on the relationship of the fine arts to nature, science, math, music, and communal interaction. We encourage children to ponder, investigate, and create as a way to make meaning of the world around them. We work collaboratively with parents, and serve as a resource for support and education, engaging your children and nourishing their hearts and minds.
Our children learn the traditions, ethics and values of Judaism as part of their education. These lessons are woven organically throughout all of our activities and become a meaningful and treasured part of each child’s personal experience
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead a toddler classroom with creativity, patience, and intention
· Design and implement play-based, developmentally appropriate lesson plans
· Promote sensory exploration, emerging language skills, and social-emotional development
· Observe, assess, and document child progress in partnership with families
· Collaborate closely with co-teachers and leadership team
· Foster a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that supports independence and self-regulation
· Support children through transitions with empathy and consistency
· Willingness to learn about and celebrate Jewish traditions & holidays.
SUPERVISION
· This role reports to the Director of Gan Yeladim Preschool.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
· Minimum 1 year experience leading a toddler classroom
· Understanding of toddler development, responsive caregiving, and attachment theory
· Familiarity with DAP, emergent curriculum, and the Reggio Emilia approach is a plus
· Strong communication skills with families and team members
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and engage in floor play and active supervision
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check required.

HOURS & COMPENSATION
This position will be 29 hours per week. Compensation range will be $20-$23/hour based on experience.
Benefits: Retirement after 1,000 hours and 1 year eligibility requirements met, Group LTD, Life insurance, PTO, Family YMCA membership, Holiday pay, Winter months November -March.
