Position Overview:

The Events Manager plays a key role in developing and executing a comprehensive event management strategy that supports the goals of the Advancement department. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, logistics, and execution of fundraising, stewardship, and signature events, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values. The Events Manager collaborates with leadership, donors, vendors, sponsors, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional event experiences, strengthen donor engagement, enhance community outreach, and support the organization's fundraising and philanthropy objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with organizational leadership to conceptualize and design compelling in-person events that engage JFS's growing donor base
  • Create, manage, and execute detailed work plans for all assigned events, from concept to completion
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including reviewing and tracking contracts and managing communications
  • Manage event logistics and staff to ensure successful day-of execution and attendee experience
  • Track event-related data, metrics, and donor engagement using Raiser's Edge
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership and internal teams throughout the event planning process
  • Ensure events support fundraising objectives and enhance donor stewardship efforts
  • Implement strategic seating arrangements for special events, balancing guest preferences, organizational priorities, and logistical considerations as well as handling last-minute changes with discretion and efficiency

Skills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:

  • Proven experience in planning and executing successful in-person events
  • Strong background in vendor management and coordination of event logistics
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles and donor engagement strategies
  • Prior experience supervising staff or volunteers during events
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and project management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Raiser's Edge or a comparable donor database system
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Skills/Abilities We’d Like You to Have:

  • Knowledge of local Jewish community members and relationships

Work Setting: Hybrid

Reports To: Senior Director of Philanthropy

Pay Range: $75,000-$90,000/year

In addition to standard pay, compensation for this position includes:
