Position Summary:
This account management and customer interface role drives growth and maintains relationships with new and existing customers for the greenhouse, outdoor garden, and community activity planning. Responsible for all sales and account management phases, ensuring customer relationships are solid and that the JFS Altius brand is well represented in the marketplace. Main point of contact with JFS Weinberg pantry. Knowledge of sales plans, building customer relationships, invoicing/ordering/payment, and product delivery.
Altius Farms delivers primarily in the Denver metro area, with several customers outside of the area. Responsible for sales and customer satisfaction, and data analytics for sales and marketing. Together with the Farm Manager, supports greenhouse operations activities as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates with external partners, Weinberg Pantry Manager and restaurant chefs to convey product availability for the week, and to take orders.
- Ensures orders are correctly processed and packaged.
- Links daily and weekly sales plans to daily and weekly harvest plans, collaborating with the Farm Manager.
- Balances available product across standing orders, incoming orders, and priority customers.
- Resolves customer issues and questions diplomatically, involving members of the JFS Altius Team, as necessary.
- Maintains contact with our customer base, growing accounts, and contacting/closing prospective customers.
- Leads operations/sales stand-ups and weekly team meetings.
- Responsible for inventory management and purchasing
- Works with JFS Event Planning Director, collaborating on garden events and tours of the farm.
- Works with JFS Volunteer Services team on volunteer requirements and scheduling.
- Works with JFS Marketing to promote social media programs for the farm, collaborating with the Social Media Manager on content, messaging, and timing.
- Identifies product/crop rotations seasonally (spring/summer and fall/winter) by speaking with customers, prioritizing, and communicating with Farm Manager.
- Researches and understands the current environment in the Denver restaurant and grocery market.
- Supports the COO in matters related to JFS Altius Farms' business operations, communicating financials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- General knowledge of restaurant operations, farmer’s markets, CSA, and direct-to-consumer retail sales.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in marketing, sustainability, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience with food safety.
- Preferred prior sales or account management experience.

- Effective written and verbal communication abilities. English required.
- Understanding sales plans, ordering, business development, and customer relationship management.
- Confidence in troubleshooting problems across greenhouse operations and customer relationships.
- Familiarity with sales tracking and customer relationship management (CRM) tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other software applications useful in marketing, sales, promotions, and social media outreach helpful.
- A valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are required. Employees must maintain a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements and be able to travel to multiple sites or community locations as part of regular job duties. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with agency policy.
Work Environment:
Outdoors Position: Work is primarily performed at JFS Altius Farms at 2500 Lawrence St, Denver, CO 80205 with regular work within the community. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold. Work hours are generally during regular farm hours (Monday - Saturday) with occasional work on Sundays.
Physical requirements: Frequent sitting, lifting, and typing. Occasionally using hands to control or feel objects or tools; Occasionally able to climb and stand on step stools and small ladders for extended periods of time; visual acuity to be able to work with seeds, seedlings, and other small items. The employee is regularly required to travel between sites, communicate effectively, and use standard office and mobile equipment.
Physical effort/lifting: The employee may frequently be required to lift 50 pounds or more.
