Position Summary:
- The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for recruitment and the development/implementation of training. This position assists with creating, updating, and administering the Agency’s Human Resource policies, procedures, processes, and programs. This position provides support in employee law compliance, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, policy implementation, and day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions*:
- Executes all tasks involved with full-cycle recruitment.
- Partners with managers to determine ongoing training needs.
- Administers for Training Today, the JFS Learning Management System.
- Keeps current with and administers Managers Training. This may include supervisory/management training, computer training, certifications, and skill/competency assessment.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Works with the Compliance Manager to keep human resources forms and policies current.
- Participates in supporting the lifecycle for exempt and non-exempt searches including assessing staffing needs, posting job advertisements, screening of candidates, interviewing, coordinating with managers in hiring decisions, and extending job offers.
- Supports managers and employees with the performance management process, employee development, and accountability.
- Assists in providing support and input to management regarding employee relations issues, from coaching to corrective action.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resource Officer.
- Stays current with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Supports culture initiatives, including wellness and recognition programs, and assists supervisors and team members in maintaining a positive working culture.
- Administers background checks and agility tests for new hires.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience:
- Preferred bachelor’s/master's degree in human resources, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- PHR/SHRM designation is a plus.
- Prior human resource management experience is preferred.
- Experience with all aspects of recruitment.
- Other:
- Ability to determine training needs.
- Ability to develop and implement training methodologies.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems is required.
- Experience with salary data and compensation analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with Paylocity is helpful.
Certification/Licensing:
- PHR/SHRM designation preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Work Environment:
- In-Office (Hybrid possible) Position: Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work. Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.
- Essential physical requirements: Frequently sitting and typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.
- Physical effort/lifting: The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
