Salary: $20.00 per hour
This position is Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week
Position Summary: This position provides housekeeping services to seniors, adults with disabilities, or adults with serious illnesses. These services may include light house cleaning, laundry, simple meal preparation and cleanup, and running errands. Performs non-professional support to patients within a home setting.
Essential Functions:
- Provides services to older, disabled, or chronically ill clients in their homes, including the following:
- Dusting
- Vacuuming
- Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms (including floors)
- Laundry
- Linen changing
- Supplemental grocery shopping and light meal preparation as needed
- Represents Jewish Family Service in the homes of clients and in the community.
- Reports any problems/concerns of the client to the Field Staff Supervisor.
- Attends scheduled supervisory and other mandatory agency meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Preferred one year of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience in housekeeping/cleaning in apartments and private homes.
Other:
- Attention to detail and timeliness are essential.
- Knowledge of aging and disabilities. - Ability to communicate by phone.
- Ability to comprehend and complete daily logs, delivery logs, mileage sheets, and schedules.
- A valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are required.
- Employees must maintain a driving record that meets agency insurance requirements and be able to travel to multiple sites or community locations as part of regular job duties. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with agency policy.
- Ability to provide good client and customer service. This job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a cooperative attitude while being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
Work Environment:
Off-Site Position:
- Work primarily takes place in the community with occasional requirements to be at the home office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231
- Work hours are during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.
Essential physical requirements:
- Requires the ability to adequately perform homemaking tasks, i.e., cleaning, laundry, light meal preparation and clean-up, errands, etc. Must have the physical ability necessary to perform required tasks (carry bags of groceries, move light furniture, etc.).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and perform push/pull motions to perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, using a vacuum cleaner, dusting furniture, etc.
- Must have the ability to grasp or hold items such as washcloths, dust cloths, dishes, clothing, etc.
- The employee is regularly required to travel between sites, communicate effectively, and use standard office and mobile equipment.
Physical effort/lifting:
- The employee may regularly be required to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Agility test required.
