Position Summary:

This internship works with the KidSuccess team to provide professional case management services to adolescents, children, and families to promote individual and family stability, self-sufficiency, and academic achievement as part of the KidSuccess school-based mental health program.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess and link families to community resources as appropriate for the family’s needs.
  • Provides counseling, crisis intervention, and supportive services to assist clients in meeting treatment goals from a case management lens.
  • Implement and monitor treatment/service plans with clients as it relates to case management goals.
  • Collaborates with other programs within the JFS (Jewish Family Service) agency and other community prevention agencies. Network and communicate professionally to promote JFS while gathering and providing resources to and from community members.
  • Authorizes services of the program based on assessment of need and availability of resources.
  • Coordinates and helps with special department programs.
  • Maintains accurate case records; documents client contacts and progress to ensure accountability.
  • Attend and support therapists during wellness groups, school events, and community fairs, which may occur during or after school hours.
  • Attends supervision weekly with the case manager and clinical supervisor to support case management needs.
  • Assists with intakes, services, & case management needs for Weinberg Food Pantry clients.
  • Inputs client information into databases as required.
  • Participates in staff training as required.
  • Submit relevant data points for reports and documents regarding the program.
  • Adheres to all grant eligibility and documentation requirements.
  • Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Be organized with documentation, including documentation containing PHI (Protected Health Information).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

  • Must be enrolled in an education program.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.

Work Environment:

  • In-Office (Hybrid Possible) Position: Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work.
  • Essential physical requirements: Frequently sitting and typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.
  • Physical effort/lifting: The employee may occasionally be required to lift to 10 pounds.
