Description

The HR Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources team by maintaining and optimizing HR systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee data, administering employee benefits, and managing complex leave processes. This role is essential to delivering a positive employee experience through timely communication, responsive support, and strong compliance practices. Working collaboratively across departments, the HR Analyst helps ensure HR operations run efficiently and align with the organization’s values and goals.

Salary: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Essential Functions:

• Serves as system administrator for the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, security, and consistent use across the organization.

• Maintains employee records, job changes, compensation updates, and organizational structures.

• Develops and runs scheduled and ad-hoc reports for analytics, compliance, and leadership needs.

• Troubleshoots system issues and coordinates with vendors to resolve problems.

• Recommends and implements process improvements to optimize HRIS functionality and the employee experience.

• Provides back-up support for the HR Generalist position.

• Coordinates benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, annual open enrollment, and ongoing employee support.

• Serves as a liaison between employees and benefit carriers, resolving issues and ensuring timely processing.

• Manages 401(k) plan administration, including eligibility tracking, enrollment, contribution audits, and coordination with the plan administrator.

• Prepares and distributes benefit communications; supports employees in understanding available coverage.

• Ensures compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.

• Oversees end-to-end administration of employee leaves, including FMLA, Colorado FAMLI, ADA accommodations, and internal medical/non-medical leaves

• Serves as primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding leave eligibility, documentation, timelines, and expectations.

• Coordinates with payroll and benefits to ensure accurate pay, deductions, and reinstatement processes.

• Maintains confidential medical records and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Conducts ADA interactive processes and documents reasonable accommodation determinations.

• Assists with onboarding, offboarding, auditing, and other HR projects as needed.

• Maintains accurate personnel files and documentation.

• Supports HR initiatives focused on engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

• Participates in HR team meetings and contributes to building streamlined, employee-centered processes.

Work Environment:

In-Office (Hybrid possible) Position:

  • Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231.
  • Position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work.
  • Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.

Essential physical requirements:

  • Frequently sitting and typing.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.

Physical effort/lifting:

  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in human resources, relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

Other:

  • Experience managing FMLA, ADA, and state leave programs (Colorado experience preferred).
  • Strong technical skills with HRIS platforms; ability to troubleshoot and optimize workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain data integrity.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, compliance, and documentation requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Preferred experience in the nonprofit or human services sector.
  • Knowledge of Colorado FAMLI and ADA interactive process best practices.
  • Preferred experience with 401(k) plan administration.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).

Certification/Licensing:

  • Preferred HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or related coursework.
