Description

Position Summary: The On-Call Activities Specialist will be responsible for assisting people with developmental disabilities to participate in education, recreational, and volunteer activities onsite and in the community. They will provide group and individual support, supervision, and transportation to individuals in the ACE (Arts and Community Exploration) program with a person-centered focus.

The On-Call Activities Specialist provides coverage for staff absences, including PTO and other unfilled shifts, ensuring continuity of programming and support.

Shifts will be Monday - Friday 7:30-3:30

Salary $21.00 -$23.00

Responsibilities:

· Provide group and individual support, supervision, and transportation to individuals in the ACE program with a person-centered focus.

· Monitor the success of outcomes attained and document progress daily.

· Responsible for leading activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise, and the topic of the day during facility-based services.

· Facilitate small group community activities incorporating arts, cultural, recreational, and collaborative opportunities.

· Assist with the organization of the office and activity space during and after activities.

· Assist with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

· High School or GED

Experience:

· Some experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in education, arts, and/or recreation settings.

Other:

· Able to lift up to 40 pounds to perform necessary tasks, such as assisting clients when necessary, carrying supplies and equipment, moving light equipment, etc. (Agility test required)

· Able to bend, kneel, stoop, and perform push/pull motions to perform necessary tasks, such as moving light supplies and equipment, picking up materials, etc.

· Able to grasp or hold items to perform necessary tasks, such as handling materials and supplies, moving items, etc.

· Must be able to work in a team setting.

· Must have a good driving record.

· Must maintain automobile insurance.

· It is helpful to have CPR, first aid, various safety skills, and/or defensive driving.
