Volunteer Services Administrative Intern

I. Position Summary: Jewish Family Service of Colorado is seeking a dynamic, self-starter to assist with Volunteer Recruitment, Coordination, and Management. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in various facets of volunteer management within a well-established community-based nonprofit organization. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Volunteer Services Manager and the Volunteer Services Department, engaging with all nonprofit departments to support staff and volunteers in volunteer-supported programs.

Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting with coordinating and scheduling volunteers for both the JFS office and off-site assignments.
- Ensure volunteers are properly utilized and engaged.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries promptly.
- Coordinate volunteer recognition activities.
- Protect the organization’s value and individual privacy by maintaining confidentiality.
- Assisting with volunteer recruitment and outreach events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Sign in and out using VicTouch for each shift.
- Report any concerns to the Volunteer Services Manager
Training:
- One-on-one training will be conducted with follow-up access to the Volunteer Services Manager.

Education:
- Preferably, completed or working toward the completion of a college degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or Social Work.
Experience:
- Previous Internship or related experience in volunteer engagement and/or management is a plus.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with Volgistics is a plus
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Self-motivated.
- Good organizational skills.
- Detail oriented.
