Position: Driver. Organization: Jewish Family & Career Services. Reports to: Homecare Director. Position Type: Part Time - Afternoon. FLSA Status: Exempt. Location: Louisville, Kentucky. Salary: $17.00 per hour.Purpose: Passport Around Louisville Service (PALS) Driver will provide older adults with transportation for medical appointments, errands, shopping and outings. The Driver will serve on the JFCS Homecare team, report to the Homecare Director, adhere to safe driving practices, and will not operate a cell phone while driving.Essential Functions: Transport clients from designated addresses to appointed destinations as per schedule; Practice safe driving habits and follow all safety regulations; Provide stand-by assistance as clients embark/disembark and ensure seatbelts are worn; Escort clients to and from errands/appointments as requested; Document mileage, maintenance and repairs on vehicle logs; Maintain vehicle readiness (clean, fueled, safety checks); Maintain communication with Homecare Director regarding changes/safety issues/incidents/client concerns; Excellent navigation skills and proficiency using navigation applications; Assist with other transportation-related tasks for the Agency; Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records; Handle PHI and PII confidentially; Other duties as assigned.Requirements: High school graduate preferred; 20+ years old; Valid driver's license and current, clean DMV record.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: Tasks involve sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and other physical requirements; Good vision (corrective lenses acceptable); Able to hear (hearing aids acceptable); Able to speak; May occasionally lift/carry/move/push up to 300 lbs (wheelchair-bound clients); Physically able to assist clients into and out of vehicle and navigate clients safely.Supervisory Responsibility: None. Travel Requirement: Considerable local travel. Pre-Employment Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background and drivers’ record check.
