Position: Fraud Prevention and Victim Support Specialist. Organization: Jewish Family & Career Services. Reports to: Chief Program Officer. Position Type: Full Time. FLSA Status: Exempt. Our core service areas include Career Services, Counseling Services, Family Strengthening, Jewish Life, Klein Older Adult Services, and the Navigate Enterprise Center.Our Values: Kavod (Respect for the undeniable humanity of each person); Chesed (Actions rooted in compassion and empathy); Kehilah (Connections that strengthen individuals and build community); Tzedek (Advocacy that fosters fairness and equity); Avodah (Service to others that has the power to repair our world).Purpose: The Crime Victims Advocate helps older adults who have suffered financial exploitation; physical, emotional or sexual abuse; robbery or burglary; caregiver neglect and other crimes with supportive services to navigate the criminal justice system and respond to their resulting emotional, physical, and financial needs.Essential Functions: Manage a case load of older victims of crime; Accompany and support clients in court proceedings; Identify emergency housing options; Engage in outreach, advocacy, case management and counseling activities; Conduct trainings, workshops and educational events on crime prevention; Provide concrete services such as completing eligibility forms, filing police reports and protective orders, accessing community resources and filing Crime Victim’s Compensation claims; Coordinate and facilitate access to services; Network with community service providers; Track, monitor, case note and report client events; Provide Information & Referral (I&R) services with clients and family members.Secondary Duties: Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records and notes according to agency and HIPAA policies; Attend staff, team and impact area meetings; Other duties as assigned.Travel Requirement: Considerable local travel (Louisville Metro area) required during the course of business.Pre-Employment Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background and drivers’ record check. Negative TB test and drug screen required.Education, Training and Experience Requirements: Bachelors in human services field or equivalent experience.Performance Requirements: Stay current on community resources and entitlement programs; Meet agency, grant and other funder outcomes; Attend agency and department meetings, including weekly clinical meeting; Meet reporting and departmental deadlines; Maintain up-to-date client case records and outcomes measurement; Handle PHI and PII confidentially; Conduct self in a professional and respectful manner.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to develop constructive, professional and cooperative working relationships; Proficient with general and program-specific computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Penelope); Operate typical office equipment; Sensitivity to different cultural, socio-economic and age groups.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: Tasks involve sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and other physical requirements (including home visits); Sedentary work which involves sitting most of the time; Must be able to speak and hear; Close visual acuity for computer work and reading; Typical office conditions.Please submit your resume and cover letter to jobs@jfcslouisville.org.
