Position: DriverOrganization: Jewish Family & Career ServicesReports to: Homecare DirectorPosition Type: Part Time - AfternoonFLSA Status: ExemptLocation: Louisville, KentuckySalary: $17.00 per hourPurpose: Passport Around Louisville Service (PALS) Driver will provide older adults with transportation for medical appointments, errands, shopping and outings. The Driver will serve on the JFCS Homecare team and report to the Homecare Director and adhere to safe driving practices and will not operate a cell phone while driving.Essential Functions:- Transport clients from designated addresses to appointed destinations as per schedule.- Practice safe driving habits and follow all state and national safety regulations.- Provide stand-by assistance to clients as they embark/disembark; ensure seatbelts are worn and assist as necessary.- Escort clients to and from errands and appointments as requested.- Document mileage, maintenance and repairs on vehicle logs.- Maintain vehicle readiness (clean, fueled, safety checks).- Maintain communication with Homecare Director regarding changes, safety issues, incidents or concerns.- Excellent navigation skills and proficiency using navigation applications.- Assist with other tasks on behalf of Agency that involve transportation.- Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records; handle PHI/PII confidentially per agency procedures.- Other duties as assigned.Requirements:- High school graduate preferred- 20+ years old- Valid driver's license and current, clean DMV recordPhysical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:- Sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and other physical requirements- Good vision (corrective lenses acceptable); able to hear (hearing aids acceptable)- Able to speak (exchange information by spoken words)- May occasionally lift/carry/move/push up to 300 lbs (wheelchair-bound clients)- Physically able to assist clients into/out of vehicle and navigate them safely to/from destinationSupervisory Responsibility: NoneTravel Requirement: Considerable local travelPre-Employment Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background and drivers’ record check.
