Position: CDL Program ManagerOrganization: Jewish Family & Career ServicesReports to: Manager of Immigrant & Refugee ServicesPosition Type: Part-TimeFLSA Status: ExemptLocation: Louisville, KentuckyWebsite: www.jfcslouisville.orgPurpose: Working primarily with the refugee and international population, the CDL Program Manager will utilize a case management approach to provide comprehensive career and employment assessment, evaluation, coaching and placement assistance in the trucking industry. This is a grant-funded position with current funding secured through September 30, 2026.Essential Functions:- Provides career search services with an employment focus, including employability assessment, coaching and support to an adult refugee population. Oversee key elements of the project including scholarships and make recommendations on program changes as changing needs emerge.- Counsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their success in Vocational Training CDL program.- Create vocational plans for participants- Stay abreast of workforce trends and interface with employers- Stay abreast of community needs and resources- Linking and cultivating relationships with funding sources, vocational training partners, referral partners, and government offices- Ongoing communication and correspondence with funders, referrals sources, collateral and other relevant officials- Conduct outreach efforts to recruit participants into programmingSecondary Duties:- Preparing reports on a quarterly basis for funders- Any of duties as assigned by supervisorSupervisory Responsibility: NoneTravel Requirement: Within Louisville Metro areaPre-Employment Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check.Education, Training and Experience Requirements:- Associate’s Degree- 2 years of experience working with refugees/immigrants- Fluency in another language (preferably Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Pashto, or Haitian Creole) strongly preferred- Past experience in workforce development- Experience with trucking industry preferredPerformance Requirements:- Complete and timely entry of all relevant case notes into the appropriate system(s).- Attend all departmental and agency meetings.- Maintain a full caseload as determined by the grant requirements.- Meet goals and outcomes set forth in applicable grants.- Timely response to internal and external communication (e.g. phone, email, meeting requests, etc.)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Ability to develop constructive, professional and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain those relationships over time.- Effectively utilize general and program-specific computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, NewOrg, ClientTrack, etc.)- Effectively operate typical office equipment (telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, mail machine, etc.)- Sensitivity to different cultural, socio-economic and age groups.- Organizational skillsPhysical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:- Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, and fine motor skills- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs occasionally- Work is performed in an office environment- Work schedule is variable as needed by agency and clientsPlease submit your resume and cover letter to jobs@jfcslouisville.org.
