Caregivers work one-on-one with older adults in Jefferson County, assisting with personal care, meal preparation and light housekeeping. Position starts at $16/hour with opportunity for paid time off and benefits. Employees must pass a background check and drug screen. Flexible schedule; part-time and full-time available. Qualifications: High school diploma preferred or equivalent experience; ability to read, write and speak English; training provided (experience in personal care/homecare/elderly preferred); valid driver’s license; reliable transportation; 18+ years old; alignment with JFCS mission and values. Duties include: Assist clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating, exercises, grooming, incontinence care, medication reminders, mobility and transfers, etc.); companionship (transportation, escort to appointments/events, socialization, reminders, correspondence, games/reading, respite); homemaker services (light housekeeping, laundry, linens, garbage, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, organizing/cleaning closets; meal planning/prep including grocery shopping, cooking and clean-up; errands such as dry cleaning, Rx pick up, personal shopping); maintain confidentiality; other duties as assigned. Performance: Arrive on time and complete shifts; follow care plans; communicate with Homecare Director; complete mandatory trainings; submit timesheets/flow sheets/incident reports on time; comply with KY Personal Services Agency regulations; TB/drug screening as requested; maintain client confidentiality and information security. Knowledge/Skills: Effective English communication; sensitivity to elderly/convalescent/disabled; maintain composure; cooperative attitude; monitor client environments and report concerns. Physical/Environmental: Climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push/pull, lift, grasp/feel as needed; visual acuity for accuracy/observations (corrective lenses acceptable); express/exchange ideas verbally (assistive devices acceptable); perceive sounds at normal levels (assistive devices acceptable); medium work (up to 50 lbs occasionally/30 lbs frequently/10 lbs constantly); work typically in homes or climate-controlled locations.
