JF&CS is now seeking a Part-Time (21-hour Week) Human Resources Assistant.
PURPOSE:
The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Build and maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Submits employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analyzing data.
- Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to collect and file all required documents appropriately.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Assists with planning and executing HR special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), Training software and similar computer applications.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
- The employee must be able to stand, walk, file and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds.

- Will have face to face contact with other HR team members.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Prior experience in human resource roles is preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 software a plus
Candidates who are selected for employment must successfully complete a pre-employment background screening as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Employment will be contingent upon the satisfactory completion of both the background check and the drug screening. Additionally, if applicable, tuberculosis testing (TB) and fingerprinting may also be required.
