Outreach Associate Description

Description: The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) is seeking an energetic and passionate Outreach Associate to support our national grassroots engagement, state chapters, student fellowship, and voter mobilization work. The Outreach Associate will serve as a key member of JDCA’s growing Outreach team in advance of the 2022 election. The Outreach Associate will also assist with organizational projects and initiatives as needed. This position will report to the Outreach Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

State Chapters

• Work closely with the Outreach Director, state chapter leads, and lay leaders to coordinate JDCA’s organizing and outreach efforts through our 15 state chapters.
• Support established JDCA state chapters by planning events and meetings, providing logistical support, and working with JDCA staff to ensure successful chapter efforts.
• Manage JDCA direct voter contact efforts and events such as phone banking, text banking, canvassing, and relational organizing in partnership with volunteers and fellows.
• Brainstorm new and creative ways to further engage our grassroots base in advancing the organization’s priorities.

College & Young Professional Outreach

• Support the Outreach Director in overseeing our organizing fellows program.
• Develop strategies to engage and mobilize college students and young professionals in the lead-up to Election Day.
• Work with student leaders to host guest speakers, student-focused volunteer opportunities and coordinate get-out-the-vote efforts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in organizing, campaigns, politics, or advocacy.
• Desire to build and maintain relationships with volunteers and grassroots leaders.
• Ideal candidates are self-motivated, creative, results-oriented, and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Familiarity with the Democratic political landscape.
• Alignment with JDCA's mission and commitment to electing Democrats that share our socially progressive, pro-Israel, Jewish values.
• Comfort working a campaign-like schedule, including staffing events on nights and weekends.
• Experience with NGP VAN/EveryAction, MobilizeUs, and peer-to-peer texting platforms is a plus. There is opportunity for growth and mobility in this position. The salary ranges from $40,000-$50,000, commensurate with qualifications.
