The Warehouse & Facilities Support Specialist is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing food products for the Kosher Food Bank and for general facilities maintenance across designated JCS locations. This position ensures that Food Bank shelves remain stocked and orderly, assists clients and volunteers, drives the Food Bank van for pickups and deliveries, and supports the upkeep, safety, and smooth operation of multiple sites by performing routine cleaning, light repairs, and supply management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations -
- Receive, inspect, and move food products and other goods to proper storage areas, ensuring safe lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and first-in/first-out rotation.
- Check all items for damage, spoilage, or expiration and dispose of non-usable products appropriately.
- Stock shelves, bins, and cold storage areas and assemble client orders.
- Open and break down packaging for recycling or disposal.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning fridges/freezers, restrooms, staff kitchen, and public areas.
- Drive the Food Bank van to pick up and deliver items, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting maintenance needs.
- Assist and interact courteously with clients, volunteers, and school/community groups.
Facilities Maintenance & Support -
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing, and light repairs in common areas; remove boxes, discarded items, and trash not collected by building staff.
- Monitor building systems (lighting, HVAC, plumbing) and safety equipment; replace filters/bulbs, inspect fire extinguishers and first-aid kits, and report or coordinate necessary repairs.
- Support office moves, event/meeting setups, and special projects such as furniture relocation, assembly, painting, or deep-cleaning; coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Manage and distribute supplies including PPE, cleaning products, and mail; track and submit receipts/invoices for vendor purchases (e.g., Home Depot, Shell gas cards).
- Handle confidential document disposal (e.g., Shred-It coordination) and ensure safe, organized storage of sensitive materials.
- Provide first-response for facility needs across JCS sites, including vehicle maintenance, minor repairs, pest-control prevention, and ensuring emergency exits remain unobstructed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, lift & carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds; able to bend, reach, pull, load, unload, climb, etc. including the ability to drive safely following all traffic regulations and approved guidelines.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Relevant experience working in a warehouse and facilities maintenance.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to travel throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties using company vehicles.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs. and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, climbing, and driving safely
