The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island, founded in 1981, provides social and human services to the people of southern Brooklyn, both locally and throughout the city. As JCCGCI expanded over the past two decades, it became a ''one-stop'' center for a variety of social and human service needs (and was designated as a ''settlement house'' by NYS). As part of JCCGCI's service divisions, we address the challenges faced by elderly individuals with serious disabilities, economically disadvantaged youth, and immigrants. We also help non-profit organizations to secure funding and build capacity. JCCGCI conducts ongoing research to ensure we are meeting unmet needs in accordance with this mission. JCCGCI's effective service delivery is a recognized resource that elected officials and nonprofits turn to when they need assistance in addressing various social service needs.
