The Kitchen Aide supports daily meal service operations for the Older Adult Center nutrition program by assisting with food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and kitchen upkeep. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while supporting the delivery of nutritious meals to older adults.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, meal service, and packaging, including homebound meals.
- Clean and store kitchen equipment, trays, pots, and utensils.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, food service areas, and workspaces.
- Support meal distribution and dining room operations as needed.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
- Perform additional duties to support nutrition program operations.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen-related physical tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with staff.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong focus on cleanliness and safety.
- Food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
- English speaking/reading helpful but not required.
- Respectful and culturally sensitive approach.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a commercial kitchen and dining area and requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working around kitchen equipment and cleaning products. Schedule primarily includes early morning and daytime hours.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, 25 hours per week
