$80,000 - $85,000 per year
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Controller, this position manages the financial aid process, administers contributed revenue, collaborates with Development on grant budgets and reporting, supports government grant invoicing, and performs other accounting administrative duties as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Aid Administration (50%)
- Oversee the full lifecycle of the Financial Aid application process.
- Maintain the financial aid policy and respond to financial aid requests and inquiries.
- Collect financial aid applications and supporting documentation.
- Prepare summarized applicant information and recommended awards based on the established financial aid matrix.
- Communicate with financial aid applicants and families throughout the process.
- Serve as lead systems administrator for FACTS, the grant and aid assessment platform used for JCCSF Summer Camp and Preschool Programs.
- Serve as accounting liaison for JCCSF program participants receiving Children’s Council services, in collaboration with program administrators.
Contributed Revenue Administration (40%)
- Oversee gifts and grants administration, including documentation, compliance, financial tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Reconcile Gifts/Grants GAUs and payments in Salesforce and provide monthly financial progress reporting to Development.
- Collaborate with Development on grant applications, reporting, and government grant invoicing (GFTA, NEA, Cal OES).
- Reconcile Contributions Receivable accounts.
- Support Development with process and reporting requests as needed.
- Track restricted contributed revenue to ensure that requirements are met.
Other Administrative Duties (10%)
- Provide ECE Parent Councils with monthly activity reconciliations.
- Prepare government filings (571L, welfare exemption, etc.).
- Manage debt compliance and debt covenant requirements.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
- Assist in annual audit, as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Four-year college degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience, accounting experience preferred
- Prior experience administering financial aid programs or processes preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience working in a CRM environment, preferably Salesforce.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams)
- Non-profit industry experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Professional team player with strong planning, execution, and attention to detail.
- Must be fluent in English
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job is primarily performed on-site at the JCCSF. Working conditions are typical of an office environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements are typical of those needed in an office environment. Work includes standing and seated use of computers throughout the workday.
