The Audio-Visual Technician serves as primary contact for all AV requests and is responsible for the coordination and execution of onsite events and meetings. This role is responsible for operating and understanding all aspects of audio-visual equipment and technology used by the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
AV Support (70%)
- Coordinate and perform building-wide AV support operations, including setup, operation, and strike of AV and video conferencing systems.
- Act as hands-on technical expert for internal and external events.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards throughout AV operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and cables during setup.
- Ensure all presentation media is obtained, reviewed, and tested before each event starts.
- Provide technical support to Production Department, as necessary.
Equipment Operation and Support (30%)
- Operate and maintain audio-visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, remote meeting systems, microphones, and speakers.
- Support the building-wide inventory of audio-visual equipment and expendables, covering Fitness center AV equipment, installed AV systems, portable AV systems, and audio paging systems.
- Identify defective or failed equipment and provide timely solutions.
- Participate in regular maintenance of all audio-visual equipment, conducting system checks and audits to ensure optimum functionality.
- Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three years of continuous experience in event production and audio-visual system operations.
- Expert-level AV and Video Conferencing skills.
- Hands-on experience in live sound, stage lighting, and general electrical knowledge.
- Experience in live video recording, camera operating, video switching, a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Responsible and reliable, capable of working alone as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to audio visual equipment and systems.
- Independent and confident thinking, self-motivation, and determination.
- Ability to work and keep a calm demeaner under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- CTS and CTS-I Certifications preferred, but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works on-site in the JCCSF facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to work at extended heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
STATUS: Non-benefited, non-exempt, over-hire (as needed) position
HOURS: Over-hire (as needed), up to 19 hours per week. Must be available to work weekends and evenings.
