SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Welcome Desk Lead, the Member and Guest Services Welcome Desk Associate is primarily responsible for delivering the highest quality of customer service to all members and guests at the JCC. This position is the first point of contact to all members and guests and is central to creating a welcoming and professional environment by delivering exceptional customer service, responding to member needs, and maintaining extensive knowledge of the JCC’s programs, services, and policies. and the Welcome Desk Associate ensures that all interactions reflect the values and mission of the JCC while promoting a positive and inclusive community experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to ensure member and guest satisfaction and appreciation, greeting all individuals warmly upon arrival and departure.
  • Ensure proper check-in procedures, including scanning member cards and assisting guests with check-in procedures before allowing them to enter the facility.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries regarding programs, services, sales, and events.
  • Conduct point-of-sale transactions, including receiving payments, issuing receipts, and reconciling the money bag on a daily basis.
  • Promote JCC programs and services such as camps, swim lessons, special events, and personal training.
  • Must be consistent, punctual and reliable..
  • Serve as a liaison between members and staff by communicating member concerns to the proper supervisor.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Utilize Traction Guest on the iPad for check-in for guests and visitors.
  • Participate in departmental and agency training..
  • Adhere to and enforce agency policies and procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance.
  • Consistently offer the highest level of personalized member service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by the member and guest services team.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Customer-centered professional with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required: college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, sales-oriented, or hospitality positions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to think critically.
  • Effectively be able to multitask, operating both computer and phone systems simultaneously.
  • Display interest in learning new processes, systems, and skills.
  • Proficient with technology, including email and Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new systems with ease.

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moderate to loud noise levels. They will regularly be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use a computer, and communicate effectively in person and by phone. The employee may also be required to reach, grab, and grip items, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary (or Salary Range): $ 15.00 /hour
