SUMMARY:

Registered Nurse, Certified Medication Technician (CMT), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide excellent medical care to preschool age children 3 months to 5 years that attend the Stoler Early Learning Center, a licensed Preschool program. Days/Hours:

1-2 days a week 8:15am-1:15pm

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  1. Assess children for signs/symptoms of illness, including but not limited to fever, rash, stomachache, headaches, and other healthcare needs.
  2. Responding to emergencies (i.e. allergic reactions, seizures, injuries)
  3. Administering first aid as needed.
  4. Properly administering and documenting prescribed medications.
  5. Ensuring accurate documentation of health room visit.
  6. Maintaining open communication with parents and staff regarding a child’s health concerns and updates.
  7. Maintaining accurate health records for each child, including health history, immunizations, medications, allergies, and incidents. Communicating with parents as needed to make sure all documents are up to date and in line with MSDE licensing requirements.
  1. Ensure that the nursing area is kept clean and safe.
  2. Follow all MSDE State license standards.
  1. Organize and manage laundry, extra clothes and supplies in the nursing office.

WHO YOU ARE:

  1. Experience in school, medical field or similar environment preferred.
  2. Degree in Nursing or Certified Medication Technician (CMT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required if not a registered Nurse with up-to-date certifications.
  3. Minimum of two years of experience working with youth.
  4. Willingness to follow and give directions.
  5. Strong leadership and organization skills.
  6. Willingness to work as a part of a team.
  7. Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
  1. Great Attitude.

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment may be fast paced and requires high energy and interaction with others. The employee may also be required to frequently be on their feet for periods of time and in the outdoor elements.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Part-time, $21 - $22/hr
