SUMMARY:

Looking for a job that gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Jewish teens and prioritize your own professional growth and development as a Jewish educator? The Program Associate role is a unique position that develops creative, outside-the-box educators and empowers them to lead and grow our next generation of changemakers through a global fellowship and service-oriented teen opportunities. The Program Associate will spend the majority of their time on the Diller Teen Fellows program while also supporting additional Jewish teen programs and engagement, including leading a Teen Service Council.

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW :

4Front is the Baltimore Jewish community’s comprehensive teen initiative, managed by the JCC of Greater Baltimore. Based on four pillars, advocate, innovate, educate, and collaborate, 4Front serves as a gathering place and open channel for Baltimore’s Jewish teens and the adults who care about them. Here, teens are encouraged to explore their Judaism in ways that are meaningful to them. Our organizational culture values innovation, creativity, and risk taking. We're looking for someone who can create transformative experiences for teens.

THE ROLE:

The Program Associate is part of the 4Front team. The Program Associate is responsible for engaging Baltimore’s Jewish 11th Graders in an innovative, inspiring year-long program, including recruitment, curriculum adaptation, mentoring, and leading monthly workshops, Shabbatons, and travel to Israel. The Baltimore Diller Teen Fellows program at 4Front is part of a global network of 32 communities, 16 in the Diaspora and 16 in Israel. The Fellowship focuses on the development of Jewish identity, leadership, and Israel-Diaspora connections, and Tikkun Olam.

This position includes tremendous opportunity for professional development through multiple growth-oriented opportunities throughout the year, including both national and international conferences annually. The Program Associate engages in Diller International’s immersive professional development seminars three times per year along with other Diller educators from across the U.S., Canada, South Africa, Australia, South America, Europe and Israel. This is in preparation for managing and leading seminars with the teen fellows, including our 3-week trip to Israel in the summer.

The Program Associate will also lead and facilitate 4Front’s Teen Service Council, a leadership opportunity for teens in 9th and 10th grade. Throughout the year, teens will engage in monthly workshops to build valuable, real-world skills and collaborate with peers to create meaningful opportunities for the teen community. Council members will learn about issues facing our Baltimore community and how Jewish values can inform action towards a more just world. With newly built skills, fellows will create four service days for the larger Baltimore teen community and share their knowledge to help others give back.
