JOB TITLE: Front of House Staff, Gordon Center

REPORTS TO: Gordon Center Manager

STATUS: Part time

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Operations Manager, the front of house staff is responsible overseeing all public areas of the Gordon Theater including managing the flow of patrons in and out of the Gordon Theater, operating the concessions, and/or working in the box office. This position will oversee all volunteer ushers, assuring an exceptional experience for all patrons. The Front of House Staff is the first level of supervision for the ushers in front of house theater operations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee flow of people in and out of the theater
  • Responsible for staffing the concessions; selling food and beverages to patrons.
  • Assure the theater is open and ready for patrons in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for responding to immediate patron concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to relate to many types of people.
  • Two years of high school or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Creative problem-solving skills a must

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The employee may be required to frequently be on their feet for periods of time. At times the environment the employee is working in can be loud for long periods of time. The employee will be required to work in busy, fast-paced, and very crowded environments.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The work environment may be fast paced and requires high energy and interaction with others. The workspace may be noisy, at times.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary (or Salary Range): $14
