JCCA is seeking a Youth Coach Supervisor to join our LEAP Community team and play a critical role in supporting young people as they work toward their academic, career, and personal goals.
Reporting to the Director of LEAP Community, the Youth Coach Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to a team of up to five Coaches. This is a relationship-centered leadership role for someone who believes deeply in the potential of young people and understands that meaningful change begins with trust, consistency, and connection.
The Youth Coach Supervisor will help create and maintain a strength-based, trauma-informed, and youth-centered environment, while equipping Coaches with the skills, support, and resources they need to build authentic relationships with young people and help them make progress toward their goals.
The Youth Coach Supervisor will also be an important member of the LEAP team in the continued development and growth of the Fair Futures program.
Summary of Job Duties
Lead, Support & Develop Coaches
- Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, direction, and support to up to five Coaches.
- Model strength-based, trauma-informed, and youth development practices.
- Help Coaches build trusting, meaningful relationships with young people.
- Provide emotional support to staff, helping reduce stress, strengthen resiliency, and promote a healthy team environment.
- Share effective youth engagement strategies and help Coaches strengthen their relational skills.
- Guide Coaches in using Motivational Interviewing techniques to help young people identify goals and develop actionable plans.
- Support Coaches in navigating challenging situations, preventing crises, and responding effectively when crises arise.
Support Youth Success
- Help Coaches support young people in setting and achieving academic, career, and personal development goals.
- Assist Coaches in using program process maps, dashboards, and other tools to identify appropriate goals based on each young person's individual strengths, needs, and circumstances.
- Help Coaches navigate the New York City Department of Education (DOE) and other systems on behalf of young people.
- Promote advocacy and ensure that young people have access to appropriate resources and opportunities.
- Encourage a belief in the potential for positive change and help Coaches maintain a consistent focus on youth strengths and possibilities.
Build Partnerships & Strengthen the Program
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community-based organizations, schools, and other external partners.
- Leverage knowledge of the NYC education system and community resources to support youth outcomes.
- Participate in the continued development and implementation of the Fair Futures program.
- Use data to inform decision-making, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen program outcomes.
- Support the implementation of evidence-based practices and approaches.

Promote a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment for young people and staff.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience working with at-risk or system-involved youth.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff and community partners.
- Strong advocacy skills and the ability to navigate systems on behalf of young people.
- Experience working with groups, particularly teenagers.
- Ability to conduct outreach and develop partnerships with community agencies.
- Experience with, or openness to, using data to inform decision-making.
- Experience with, or openness to, implementing evidence-based practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Services or a related field.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Previous experience working as a Coach or in a similar youth-development role.
- Knowledge of the NYC Department of Education and its systems.
- Knowledge of JCCA programs and services, including Foster Care, Health Homes, and CFTSS.
Salary: $65K
