Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Supervising Psychiatrist to lead our clinical team in delivering exceptional psychiatric care. This role involves overseeing psychiatric services for children and adolescents with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, trauma-related conditions such as PTSD, and behavioral health challenges. The Supervising Psychiatrist will ensure the delivery of evidence-based practices, maintain compliance with health regulations, and foster a collaborative environment that promotes patient-centered care.

The Supervising Psychiatrist may work part-time -14 to 30 hours (Hybrid)

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and treatment planning for children and adolescents.
  • Lead, mentor, and consult with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatric providers, therapists, nurses, and case planners.
  • Guide complex clinical cases and support crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization.
  • Champion trauma-informed, evidence-based psychiatric care across programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OMH, OCFS, Managed Care, and agency standards while driving quality improvement and clinical excellence.
  • Partner with agency leadership to strengthen services and improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Participate in the agency's rotating on-call schedule, providing after-hours psychiatric consultation and clinical support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State medical license and DEA registration.
  • Minimum of five years of post-residency experience treating children and adolescents.
  • Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in child welfare, foster care, residential treatment, or community behavioral health is highly desirable.
