Position Summary:
JCCA is seeking a passionate, energetic, and mission-driven Trainer/Recruiter to join our Home Finding Department. In this vital role, you will empower foster families and applicants through high-quality training, meaningful engagement, and strengths-based support. You will facilitate evidence-based, trauma-informed learning experiences that strengthen caregivers’ skills and ultimately improve outcomes for children in care.
As a Trainer/Recruiter, you will also help grow our network of foster parents—supporting recruitment efforts, participating in outreach events, and helping expedite the certification of foster homes. Key Responsibilities:
Training & Support
- Facilitate National Training Development Curriculum (NTDC) pre-certification trainings, ongoing learning groups, and assessments for foster parents.
- Deliver engaging, culturally responsive, trauma-informed sessions that build caregiver confidence and competency.
- Document training recommendations based on family needs and maintain accurate, timely data within Binti and CONX.
- Coordinate with Home Finding and Support teams to maximize foster parent participation and success.
- Create and distribute monthly training calendars, reminders, invitations, and certificates.
Professional Collaboration
- Attend “Train the Trainer” (TOT) programs through ACS, OCFS, and other partners.
- Participate in ACS stakeholder meetings and OCFS training networks.
- Prepare training data for ACS and OCFS annual reviews.
Recruitment & Certification
- Support emergency kinship homes in completing full certification, including background checks, home study assessments, documentation, and more.
- Assist with expediting select foster parent recertification applications as needed.

Represent the agency at city, state, and community events to generate enthusiasm around foster parenting.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
- Professional presence, strong communication skills, and comfort with public speaking
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to travel throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom
- Experience with Connections and Binti highly preferred

Strong administrative skills and experience in social services or foster care required
