Position Summary
JCCA is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and administrative direction to all nursing staff within JCCA’s Medical Program. This leader ensures the delivery of equitable, high-quality, and compassionate therapeutic services to children and youth (ages 0–21) in care.
The DON will oversee nursing operations across Bronx and Brooklyn sites, supporting both primary care and psychiatric/mental health services to promote prevention, effective treatment, and optimal wellness for every young person served.
Additionally, the DON will act as a clinical consultant to other agency programs, collaborating closely with Human Resources to promote a culture of safety, health, and excellence for clients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development
Provide visionary leadership and direct supervision to nursing and administrative staff across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with agency mission and clinical excellence standards.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering a supportive, high-performance team culture.
Partner with HR to ensure compliance with labor agreements, agency policies, and state and federal regulations.

Lead ongoing professional development initiatives, promoting evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
Clinical Oversight & Compliance
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate care for children and youth in foster care and residential programs.
Maintain full compliance with ACS, OCFS, NYS, and Managed Care Organization mandates and standards.
Conduct ongoing program audits, quality reviews, and clinical performance evaluations to meet short- and long-term objectives.
Collaborate with the VP of Clinical Services to develop, implement, and monitor departmental budgets and resource allocation.
Program Development & Integration
Partner with Compliance, Data Analytics & Quality (CDQ) and Information Technology teams to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and reporting processes.
Support the development of integrated care models that bridge medical, mental health, and therapeutic services.
Provide consultative expertise to agency programs on medical policies, infection control, and health and safety protocols.
Strengthen relationships within the professional, community, and public health networks to enhance service coordination and visibility.
Organizational Collaboration
Serve as a liaison between medical, clinical, and administrative teams, ensuring smooth communication and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
Support organizational policy development, compliance initiatives, and continuous quality improvement projects.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related advanced degree preferred.
Current New York State RN license in good standing.
Proven nursing management experience, including oversight of staff, budgets, and clinical operations.
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, health care delivery systems, and quality improvement practices.
Experience in pediatric, adolescent, or family health settings strongly preferred.

Salary: $125K - $130K
