Position Summary:

JCCA is seeking a Behavioral Support Crisis Intervention Specialist to work with all unaccompanied minors in the Long Term Foster Care program, helping them achieve their behavioral goals and address challenges. The Specialist will work with the case management and clinical teams to develop behavior plan that addresses individualized behavioral strengths and challenges pertaining to the specific youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain youth’s behavioral plan, in collaboration with the youth, case manager, clinician, and foster parent
  • Monitors safety and well-being by conducting regular casework contacts and providing the necessary services to meet the needs of the children and families.
  • Assist program staff in providing stabilization and a holistic service approach to the UC youth
  • Provide social and behavioral skills support to UC
  • Create workshops to address social and behavioral needs and skills for the youth
  • Involvement in group youth development activities
  • Conduct visits to foster homes and schools
  • Crisis intervention as needed
  • Actively participate in case staffing, team meetings, and group supervision with other UC team members
  • Implement evidence-based models with foster parents, parents, discharge resources and youth
  • Writes and uploads progress notes into the Electronic Health Record and into the UC Portal
  • Document Child Level Events, when applicable

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or related field required

  • Experience supporting children and families in clinical and community-based settings
  • Expertise in trauma-informed care, crisis response, and emotional regulation techniques
  • Adept at delivering culturally competent, family-centered services during times of acute need
  • Strong knowledge of child development, mental health challenges, and family systems
  • Oral and written fluency in Spanish required

Pay Rate: 30.22 per hour
