Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing will provide leadership, management and administrative direction to all nursing staff in the Medical Program to achieve the mission to provide equitable quality therapeutic services. The Director of Nursing Services will also support primary care services to clients 0 to 21 years of age, developing therapeutic plans of care for prevention, management and maintenance of optimum health for youth in care. They will also support Psychiatric and Mental health services in their efforts to provide quality care.
The Director of Nursing services will also serve as a consultant to the other programs at the agency and support the human resources team to uphold safety and health for all clients, families, and staff at JCCA.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervision, development and evaluation of nursing and administrative staff throughout agency Foster home services programs.
- Responsible for compliance with medical mandates of ACS and other funding sources.
- Ensure the provision of high quality health care to children.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programs to meet short and long term goals.
- Responsible for community relations in the immediate community, the professional community and the general public for medical issues.
- Develop and monitor medical budgets with the VP of Clinical Services.
- Liaison with the Compliance, Data Analytics and Quality (CDQ) and Information Technology Departments to identify and implement technical systems needed to maintain electronic health records.
- Overall responsibility for the selection and termination of all staff, within the medical department, in consultation with Human Resources
- In consultation with Human Resources Department, responsible for the interpretation and implementation of agency policies and procedure, the union contract and regulations from funding sources.
- Ensure adherence with Managed Care Organization contract requirements.
- Maintain current awareness of OCFS, ACS, NYS and Foster Care Regulations.
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:
- BSN Required; MSN preferred
- Must have a current NYS RN license
- Nursing management experience with responsibilities including FTE management, policy, procedure, budgetary oversight and performance management
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, health care delivery standards, policies and procedures
- Experience working in pediatrics or adolescent health settings
Salary: $125K
