SUMMARY
JCCA is seeking qualified Licensed Behavioral Support Specialists (LBSS) to join our Residential Treatment Campus, offering a safe and supervised setting for at risk youth, ages 5-21. The Residential Treatment Campus is located in Pleasantville, NY and provides intensive support to children with emotional, behavioral and developmental challenges.
The Licensed Behavioral Support Specialists work in partnership with Case Planners and other Campus Team members to provide therapeutic services to children and their families, with the goal of cultivating a safe and permanent outcome for every child.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement skill development interventions and curriculum for individual and group facilitation.
- Structure interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior
- Intervene in crisis or conflict situations, moving toward the resolution of problems and re-defining new goals.
- Provide individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse assessment and counseling, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, transitional counseling
- Complete Psychosocial assessments and provide psycho-education and wellness education
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team members to coordinate interventions to support and enhance the youth’s skill development and well-being, along with adherence to treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with Families First Coordinators and Family Support Specialists to assist youth and family’s transition and skill building into the community to support goal of Permanency
- Screen for human trafficking concerns and comply with AWOC Protocol
- Complete Progress Notes and all required documentation within expected timeframes
- Serve as the clinical driver of the behavioral and medical health planning.
- Assist with hospitalization and discharge planning following hospitalization
- Participate in all mandatory trainings and optional trainings that enhance practice
- Any other duties assigned
QUALIFCATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- New York Stated licensed LMSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAT – limited permit is acceptable upon hire
- Ability to focus on treatment planning with children and families with the goal of permanency
- Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse
- Solid organizational, documentation and follow-up skills are required
- Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn new platforms; experience using electronic health record is a preferred
- An understanding of the impacts of institutional and structural racism on the child welfare system and in disadvantaged communities
- Previous experience in child welfare, preferably in residential setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred
SALARY
$62,400 - $64,920
