SUMMARY: JCCA Prevention Services is seeking a Supervisor to join our Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) program. The goal of Prevention Services is to preserve and stabilize families. Our programs strengthen parental capacity, improve family relationships and functioning, increase safety and wellbeing, and prevent future crises. Our program utilizes the Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model, which is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention method designed to assist families with children aged 0- 5, who have experienced at least one traumatic event, resulting in mental health, attachment and/or behavioral problems. The goal of the CPP therapeutic method is to strengthen child-parent attachment, parental empathy, and resilience in families, helping to break cycles of abuse and neglect, promoting long-term stability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide weekly supervision for therapists and other assigned staff that addresses clinical, case management, and administrative tasks.

  • Complete required training for program’s specified model and support supervisees on model fidelity when applicable

  • May carry a small caseload in accordance with specific model requirements and/or for case coverage if staffing is low

  • Support and organize as necessary staff professional development activities and training needs

  • Review and approve all documentation produced by supervisees over the life of the case, and in compliance with NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) and NY Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)

  • Complete monthly supervisory review notes per case supervised

  • Represent JCCA’s Prevention Services at community functions, presentations, ad-hoc meetings, trainings, etc.

  • Attend clinical case conferences, staff meetings, supervisor meetings, supervisory forums, and trainings to ensure ongoing skill development.

  • Assist with client/family meetings such as Family Team Conferences and Elevated Risk Conferences as needed

  • In absence of Program Director, assess referral queries, accept referrals, and assign to program staff

  • Be available as part of the supervisory team on-call coverage for client emergencies

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Master in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), a comparable master in a human service field from an accredited school. License is highly preferred (e.g. LMSW or LCSW).

  • Previous experience supervising therapists, case managers, or interns is preferred

  • Previous experience in family centered practice

  • Knowledge of and experience in individual, family, and group therapeutic modalities

  • Knowledge of assessing children at risk for abuse and neglect; previous child welfare experience is highly preferred

  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues; experience working with these challenges is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to engage clients who express disengagement and/or are coping with multiple challenges and unpredictable schedules

  • Strong self-awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse client populations and professional teams

  • Strong written communication skills in paperwork and correspondences

  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficient computer skills are required and knowledge of CONNECTIONS and PROMIS is preferred

  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred

Salary Range: $65,400-$80,000 annually
