JCCA’s Brooklyn Families Together (BFT) is seeking Social Worker in the Functional Family Therapy® (FFT) program

JCCA’s Brooklyn Families Together (BFT) stabilize and strengthen families in crisis. Social Workers support families in resolving immediate problems and keeping children safely at home. Programs offer assessment, crisis intervention and treatment in a variety of models to best assist families at critical points. Our professional staff work with families who may be struggling with family conflict, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, behavior problems, truancy, parental stress and children who are at risk of abuse and neglect. We use a family approach to empower and strengthen families to prevent out-of-home placement and to reunite families after such placements.

FFT is a short-term, high quality intervention program with an average of 12 to 15 sessions over three to five months. The FFT program works with primarily 11- to 18-year-olds who present with behavioral or emotional concerns. Therapists engage families to assess risk and protective factors that are impacting the adolescent, and identify interventions that support the family to change maladaptive behavior patterns and build on existing strengths. All staff receive training in the FFT model.
