Job Summary:

JCCA’s mission is to provide the highest quality child welfare and mental health services to New York’s neediest and most vulnerable children and families to ensure that their safety, permanency and well-being leads to a life of stability and promise.

Our programs include foster and residential care, educational assistance and remediation, case management for young people with mental health challenges and services to families to prevent child abuse and maltreatment. JCCA offers safety, stability and lifesaving support to help our clients transform their lives. JCCA programs help more than 17,000 children and families annually.

The Director of Permanency at Edenwald will provide leadership, supervision, guidance and support to program staff and is responsible for communication of all policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for ensuring the mission and core values are incorporated to the day to day function of staff with direction with regard to excellence in practice utilizing a Family Centered and Strength-Based model of approach. This position is a critical part of our Campus Services Foster Care Department and will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Permanency

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the mission and core values are incorporated in the day to day function of staff with a focus on excellence in practice utilizing a Family Centered and Strength-Based model of approach.
  • Track and ensure Program compliance with JCCA, ACS, DSS, and OCFS policies, mandates, and procedures.
  • Prioritize and track performance related to Permanency by driving the discharge of youth through Reunification, Adoption, Adult Housing, and other safe options.
  • Provide strategic hands on leadership, supervision, management, and evaluation of Social Work Administrators and program staff.
  • Responsible, in coordination with the Administrative team, for overall staffing, performance management, and development of comprehensive retention strategies.
  • Responsible for the administration and oversight of the therapeutic treatment provision, case planning, and management components of the services provided to youth and their families.
  • Identify and implement programmatic changes and policies that address staffing, structural, budgetary and case practice needs.
  • Partner with the Director of Residential Services to ensure synchrony of programming between Childcare and Social Work teams at Edenwald.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary leads to ensure integrated provision of therapeutic services that meet the needs of the youth on campus and their families.
  • Continuously and proactively drive areas of enhancement and improvement for therapeutic services.
  • Represent JCCA at ACS and Stakeholder Meeting, with Community Partners, and Agency Donors.
  • Oversee implementation and track performance of Managed Care, Families First, and other Initiatives.
  • Ensure provision, compliance, performance, and timely billing of Article 29i services.
  • Lead implementation and training aspects of the Evidence Based Models (EBMs) and ensure model fidelity.
  • Administratively fill in as necessary and provide backup coverage in absence of staff.

Qualifications:

  • Social Work (LCSW) required
  • At least three (3) years administrative or supervisory experience, providing leadership, management and administrative direction, preferably in a residential setting
  • Knowledge of core principles and standards for Foster Care and Child Welfare system.
  • An understanding of the impacts of institutional and structural racism on the child welfare system and in underserved communities
  • Ability to plan, assign, and direct subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to productive performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams that are culturally and professionally diverse.
  • Proficient with MS Office with the ability to learn new technology platforms;
  • Strong knowledge/experience with ACS and OCFS and managed care requirements

Salary: $85.5K -$95K
