Department: CommunicationsClassification: 6A POSITION SUMMARY:Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) is currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Marketing & Communications Coordinator, who will play a key role in helping the agency increase visibility and engagement in the community. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will oversee all brand content, social media, communications, email, and print stories to ensure JBBBSLA achieves outreach and PR goals. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, dynamic professional with proven success in marketing and communications as well as a commitment to the mission of JBBBSLA and knowledge of the Los Angeles Jewish community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Execute JBBBSLA’s marketing and communications strategy to increase visibility, engagement, and community awareness.- Draft, edit, and schedule compelling content for email campaigns, website updates, newsletters, blog posts, and printed materials.- Collect and elevate impact stories from participants, families, staff, volunteers, and donors that bring the mission to life.- Ensure brand voice, tone, and visual identity are consistent across all communications.- Manage day-to-day social media content creation, scheduling, and monitoring across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).- Capture photos and short-form videos at programs, events, and camp to support real-time and evergreen content.- Track basic social media metrics and engagement to inform content decisions and reporting.- Support website content updates and coordination with external vendors as needed.- Assist with the planning, drafting, and deployment of email communications for fundraising campaigns, events, program updates, and organizational announcements.- Maintain email lists and support audience segmentation to improve relevance and engagement.- Collaborate with Development and Programs teams to ensure timely, accurate messaging.- Provide marketing and communications support for key events (e.g., fundraisers, recruitment events, camp, community programs).- Create event-related materials including invitations, signage, digital graphics, and follow-up communications.- Assist with on-site event communications needs, including social media coverage and photography.- Support media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases, media pitches, and talking points.- Maintain a media and communications calendar to align messaging across departments.- Assist with updating organizational fact sheets, boilerplate language, and key messaging documents.- Work cross-functionally with Development, Programs, and Leadership to support organizational priorities.- Manage project timelines, approvals, and asset organization (photos, videos, templates).- Perform other communications and marketing related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related role (nonprofit experience a plus but not required).- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.- Experience creating and managing content for social media, email campaigns, and digital communications.- Basic proficiency with common marketing and communications tools such as email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and content management systems.- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and approvals simultaneously.- High attention to detail and accuracy in written materials and brand execution.- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and take direction while also working independently.- Basic graphic design or visual content experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).- Experience with photography and short-form video for social media and storytelling.- Exposure to media relations, press releases, or public relations support.- Personal commitment to the mission and values of the organization. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:JBBBSLA offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary range commensurate with experience ($71,000-$76,000).
