The Assistant Vice President for Self Sufficiency will have responsibility for overall strategy, program development and execution of plans for agency programs beyond services that directly address emotional well-being or maximizing potential for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes oversight of the following programs: Career Services, Access, Benefits Navigation and Financial Counseling. In addition, leadership which drives growth for Access expansion, Centralized intake and scheduling extended to external partners along with case and benefits management across the agency are also expected areas of oversight. Under the direction of the COO/CPO, this individual will ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness within the programs and service modalities listed above as well as the coordination of said services across the broader organization.

Success will be measured in terms of the adoption of Agency wide process improvement models, development of select new programs/services as well as through successful development of strong collaborative relationships externally to leverage community resources in pursuit of the overall JCFS mission and vision.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Building Infrastructure

  • Assess current capabilities and the unmet community needs to identify program enhancement and new development opportunities across the Agency.
  • Ensure sufficient infrastructure reflective of the long-term commitments the agency makes to its consumers of service.
  • Lead a team charged with managing an array of existing programs and coordinate seamlessly with programs across JCFS.
  • Develop leadership and management strength in pursuit of a strong succession plan across the service delivery model.
  • In partnership with the COO/CPO, identify opportunities to gain operational efficiencies and lead process improvement efforts.

Leveraging Resources

  • Leverage internal resources cross-functionally. Build synergies and collaborative efforts
  • · Develop effective, efficient and collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizations in the Jewish community and beyond.

Ensuring Operational Excellence

  • In cooperation with the Quality, Accreditation and Compliance department, identify and implement workflow efficiencies. Promote automation of existing processes to support Agency growth.

  • Provide follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation, ensure timely action, appropriate management support and achievement of expected benefits.

  • Serve as trainer and advisor to leadership and employees at various levels on topics such as LEAN transformation, root cause analysis, change management, and continuous improvement best practices.

Financial Sustainability

  • Identify and capture diverse funding streams for services and programs, including fee-for-service to ensure long-term viability of programs and services.
  • In partnership with the Development, support solicitation of both annual and endowment giving to maximize philanthropic support.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with Jewish Federation to ensure consistent support.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Health/Administration or related field from an accreditedCollege/University or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in multi-service health and human services environment
  • 8+ years of increasingly responsible management experience in human services including program development, financial management and strategic planning.
  • Experience in developing and executing varied revenue models designed to ensure high quality of care and long-term sustainability of programs and services.
