About the JCC of Greater Rochester
The JCC of Greater Rochester is a mission-driven community organization rooted in Jewish values and open to individuals and families of all backgrounds. The JCC serves as a center for connection, learning, wellness, and belonging, advancing Jewish life while strengthening the broader community through inclusive programs and services.
Our work is guided by core Jewish values, including Kehillah (community), Kavod (respect and dignity), Hachnasat Orchim (welcoming and belonging), Shmirat HaGuf (care for the body and well-being), and Chesed (compassion). These values inform how we care for people, steward resources, and create physical spaces that are safe, welcoming, and reflective of our mission.
The JCC encompasses a nearly 200,000 square foot facility on approximately 18 acres of developed campus, including parking and primary operations, along with an additional 10 acres of adjacent land dedicated to outdoor amenities—such as fields, tennis courts, and splash pad—and future campus development. Originally built in 1973 and expanded multiple times over the past five decades, the campus reflects both the organization’s history and its future. The JCC is currently investing in facility upgrades, deferred maintenance, and long-term master site planning to ensure the campus continues to serve the community for generations to come.
