General Job Summary:
Supports the Development team by assisting with many of the daily tasks of the department including oversight of the donor database, responding to inquiries, and providing reports. The Development Assistant may interact with donors, volunteers, and senior level staff and must exercise care, discretion, diplomacy, and tact in this critical support role.

- Assist with the execution of the acknowledgement and pledge reminder process.
- Manage the general email and phone communications.
- Complete regular internal reporting on fundraising efforts.
- Responsible for accurate entry of all monetary gifts, pledges, and supporting documentation into the database (Raiser’s Edge) in a timely fashion.
- On an as needed basis, support development events, could include managing RSVP, helping with décor and set-up, tracking attendance, tracking results, and working with partners and vendors.
- Assist in preparing and editing spreadsheets, preparing letters, mail merges, labels, reports, and other documents using Microsoft Office Tools.
- Assist with donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, and help with communication, events, and other related activities.
- Maintain database, record maintenance and data integrity.
- Ensure timely acknowledgment of donor gifts with weekly communications.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets. Experience with donor databases, specifically Raiser’s Edge, is preferred. High comfort level in learning new databases and software.

This is a part-time position (20-25 hours) with work hours occurring on weekdays during regular business hours. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
