POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for classroom oversight and implementation of approved curriculum in the Early Childhood team.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (abbrev.):- Prepare weekly lesson plans within program curriculum; assist in Early Childhood operations (gym, pool, carpool, events).- Maintain required continuing education (Dept. of Welfare, NAEYC); maintain calm, flexible, caring demeanor with children/parents.- Oversee preschool room/equipment maintenance; ensure safety/health compliance; attend in-service and staff meetings.- Plan age-appropriate activities; maintain safe/healthy environment; maintain lesson plans and communications; prepare progress sheets and conferences.- Interact daily with parents/guardians; maintain effective relationships with parents, staff, and program participants; collaborate with JCC departments.- Manage multiple responsibilities; integrate agency core values; create warm/welcoming environment; adhere to policies; support quality improvement and customer service; ensure regulatory compliance; generate reports; communicate effectively; operate computers; work evenings/weekends/holidays as required; travel as needed; other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: role includes walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; frequent moving up to 25 lbs., occasional up to 50 lbs.; must be able to complete essential functions with or without accommodations.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct the work of Assistant Educators and Aides.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision from Associate Director.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education including 30 ECE credits and at least two years’ preschool classroom experience.CERTIFICATIONS: PA Criminal History Clearance; PA Child Abuse Clearance; FBI Clearance; PA Mandated Reporter Training; National Sex Offenders Registry Clearance; First Aid/CPR; current physical exam and up-to-date TB vaccination.Equal Opportunity Employer.To apply: Submit resume/cover letter to Human Resources or apply online at https://jccpgh.formstack.com/forms/jcc_application_for_employment.
