The Early Childhood Department at the JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ is opening a new infant room in May 2026 and is seeking a Full-Time Lead Infant Teacher and a Full-Time Assistant Infant Teacher to join our team in advance of the new room’s opening. Responsibilities Include:

• Planning and maintaining a consistent routine and classroom management.
• Collaborating with other teachers or assistant teachers in the room as well as with colleagues in other infant rooms, within a cooperative and growth-oriented atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will understand developmental milestones, be nurturing, patient, reliable and joyful. Knowledge of Reggio-Emilia and a constructivist approach is a plus. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.

For Lead Infant Teachers:

• Child Development Associate Certification or College Degree in a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Child Development, etc.) required
• Relevant Experience Required

For Assistant Infant Teachers:

• Child Development Associate Certification Preferred
• Relevant Experience Preferred

Compensation: Salaries are commensurate with credentials; range is $19 – $22 per hour for Lead Infant Teachers and $18 – $21 per hour for Assistant Infant Teachers.
