Men’s Group Program Leader
JCC MetroWest, West Orange, NJ 07052 – Part-Time (2 hours/week: Mondays 6:15pm – 8:15pm)
If making an impact on the lives of adults with a range of abilities/special needs appeals to you, JCC MetroWest’s Special Services Department has an opening for a part-time Men’s Group Program Leader. This position is for 2 hours per week, from 6:15pm to 8:15 on Monday evenings. Supervised by the Special Services Director and Assistant Director, the Men’s Group Program Leader will lead a group of older teen and adult men with a range of abilities, while planning and implementing activities that motivate participants and strengthen their social and life experiences, while also supervising staff assistants.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and implement activities in a fun and engaging manner.
· Develop and maintain an effective system of group management that encourages participants to develop appropriate interactions with peers.
· Communicate regularly with management regarding needs for materials and supplies to support the activities.
· Model and lead appropriate interactions and assist participants in interacting with others and engaging in program activities.
· Take daily attendance and report absences.
· Report ALL illnesses or injuries.
· Provide supervision to ensure the safety of participants.
· Supervision of Program Assistants and report on any issues.
· Cell phones and other electronics should be used at a minimum.
· Staff should dress in both a casual and professional manner.
Qualifications:
· Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate and be at least 21 years of age.
· At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Compensation: $25 per hour
