Reports to (title): Assistant Director, Program Marketing & Social Media

Job Summary:

The Hecktman Family JCCs of Chicago—the largest Jewish community center in North America—serves tens of thousands of children, teens, adults, seniors, and families through award-winning, life-enriching programs rooted in Jewish and human values.

The Marketing Associate plays a key role in bringing that mission to life by planning, creating, and executing social media content and campaigns that drive program awareness, engagement, and follower growth. This is a cross-functional role that blends social media strategy, content creation, community engagement, marketing operations, and website support—working closely with teams across the organization to ensure every touchpoint reflects the JCC's brand and values.

Key Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop, plan, and execute integrated social media campaigns to maximize program goals.
  • Produce engaging photo carousels, video content, and other social assets that meet established engagement goals and reflect the JCC's on-brand voice.
  • Schedule social media posts across all active platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to social media messages and comments.
  • Bring fresh creative ideas and a strong visual perspective to campaign development and content positioning.
  • Attend JCC events across Chicagoland to capture on-brand photos and videos for social media, promotional materials, and digital archives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute social media and marketing projects from concept through delivery, including messaging, copywriting, and creative support.
  • Support the production and installation of events, exhibits, and other marketing materials in partnership with the Assistant Director, Marketing Operations.
  • Operate production equipment and assist with on-site installations as needed.
  • Manage digital assets, including organizing event photography in PhotoShelter and updating website calendars and content.

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive movement of arms and hands to operate computer, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as phone, computer, keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Vision: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Days/Hours/%Travel:

  • Hybrid schedule; Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends are required.
  • Frequent local travel to JCC locations throughout Chicagoland.

Compensation Range:

$60,000 - $65,000 annually

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or a related field.

Previous Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated success creating and executing marketing campaigns.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, digital asset management systems, SEO, and digital advertising preferred.
  • Passion for building community and fostering positive relationships.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance (with a minimum $250,000 liability).
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various sites.
