Principal Responsibilities:
Bridge is a Sunday recreational and social program for nuerodiverse adults designed to promote meaningful engagement, community inclusion, and positive social interaction. The Program Facilitator will support participants in recreational activities while fostering a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with an adult neurodiverse population while enhancing and expanding knowledge, skills, and understanding of this community.
Position Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate recreational and social activities for program members
- Provide additional physical support and assistance to participants during activities, as needed
- Encourage positive socialization and engagement among members
- Monitor participant safety and appropriately manage behaviors within the program setting
- Escort participants to recreational activities within the facility and community areas, including table tennis, gym activities, outdoor recreation, and boardwalk walks
- Maintain accurate contact lists and communicate schedule updates or program changes with participants in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate effectively with care managers, family members, and caregivers involved in participant drop-off and pick-up
- Report behavioral concerns, maladaptive behaviors, incidents, or safety concerns to the program supervisor promptly and appropriately
- Support a respectful, inclusive, and participant-centered environment at all times
