Principal Responsibilities:

Surprise Lake Camp located in New York is seeking a dynamic, experienced song leader to lead campers in both jewish and secular singing sessions throughout the summer. This position is full-time for the summer (June 18- August 23). This position includes room and board for the summer as well as the option for reduced camp tuition for children of hired employees. When not on duty, staff have the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful camp grounds which include our gorgeous lake, pool, and other top-notch facilities. SLC provides a competitive salary based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with children and musical background.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SONGLEADER

  • Experience working with children
  • Responsible for leading groups in Jewish and secular singing sessions
  • Responsible for assisting at roundups and giving staff the tools to run them
  • Develop a culture of song and ruach troughout camp
  • Participate in Friday night and Saturday morning Shabbat services
  • Serve as relief coverage as needed.
  • Serve on shmira (OD) rotation 7
  • Write a final report describing the program and inventory equipment
  • Participate in specialist meetings Must plan and be available for evening programs
