We are seeking a seasoned and energetic Basketball Coach to help lead our youth basketball programs. This role requires a confident facilitator who can teach fundamentals, manage groups of young athletes, and create a positive learning environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

We are looking for a coach with a high-energy personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to command the gym while inspiring players to compete and improve.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Flexible part-time options available within the following hours:

Monday - Thursday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Coaches may work one or multiple time blocks depending on availability.

Lead basketball practices, clinics, and games for youth athletes

Teach fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and footwork

Develop engaging drills and structured practice plans

Manage and instruct groups of 10-20 players at a time

Demonstrate proper basketball techniques and gameplay concepts

Maintain a high-energy, positive environment that encourages growth and teamwork

Communicate clearly and project voice confidently during drills and instruction

Ensure a safe and organized gym environment

Provide mentorship and leadership to young athletes

Collaborate with program coordinators and other coaches

Participate in department meetings and special events and activities

SALARY RANGE: $50 game/practice; higher rates may be available depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

College or professional basketball playing experience preferred

Previous coaching experience in youth basketball programs, camps, or leagues

Experience with programs similar to Hoop Heaven, Fast Break Sports, AAU, or youth development leagues

CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Strong leadership and communication skills

Ability to motivate and manage groups of children and teenagers

High energy, enthusiastic personality with a passion for teaching the game

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to demonstrate drills and basketball movements

Comfortable projecting voice and leading large groups in a gym setting
