Principal Responsibilities:
Day Camps@The J is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Ropes & Adventure Specialist to lead our exciting outdoor adventure programs. This position is ideal for individuals aged 18 and older who are passionate about outdoor activities and working with children. The specialist will be responsible for operating and maintaining our camp zipline, rock wall, and low ropes courses, as well as developing and implementing engaging nature-based programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Ensure the safe operation of the archery area, zipline, rock wall, and low ropes courses, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Program Development: Design and implement age-appropriate adventure and nature activities that promote teamwork, confidence, and outdoor skills.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, maintain, and manage all adventure course equipment and supplies.
- Instruction: Lead daily adventure sessions, guiding campers through challenges and encouraging personal growth.
- Staff Training: Assist in training other camp staff on basic safety procedures and program facilitation.
- Nature Programming: Develop and lead outdoor nature activities, including hikes, wildlife observation, and environmental education.
Work Environment:
- Seasonal position from late June to early August.
- Typical hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM.
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Experience in ropes course facilitation, rock climbing, or outdoor adventure programming preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children and in a team environment.
- Physical ability to participate in and demonstrate all adventure activities.
Training Requirement:
- Mandatory 4-day training program prior to camp season start.

Under $25,000
