Principal Responsibilities:
- Arts and Culture
- Children and Family programming (ongoing classes and special events)
- Inclusion programming
- March of the Living
- Camp at the J (in partnership with the Camp Director)
- Sports and recreational programming, including leagues and instruction for children and adults
Leadership and Organizational Strategy
- In coordination with the CPO and executive team, contribute to strategic planning, service delivery, and organizational management.
- Lead department heads in maintaining high-quality programming, strong participation levels, and sound fiscal performance within approved budgets.
- Identify and develop revenue growth opportunities across program areas.
- Create and sustain a high-performing, mission-aligned culture within the Programming Department.
- Foster cross-department collaboration to ensure cohesive and integrated program delivery.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Directly supervise program directors, managers, and coordinators.
- Build leadership capacity by mentoring department heads and strengthening supervisory skills.
- Provide clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and structured performance support.
- Guide staff in proactive program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure strong communication practices within each department, including written plans, reflections, meetings, newsletters, and other member-facing updates.
Program Quality, Participation, and Member Experience
- Ensure a high level of member and customer service is maintained across all departments.
- Monitor participation trends and program performance to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Actively supervise and mentor staff to strengthen communication with program users and members.
- Ensure consistent, varied, and effective communication methods are implemented across programming areas.
Data, Evaluation, and Accountability
- Develop and supervise systems for narrative and statistical recording of program activities.
- Use data to assess program quality, participation, financial performance, and member experience.
- Regularly review performance metrics with department heads and adjust strategies as needed.
Financial Stewardship and Operational Oversight
- Participate in annual budget development and maintain fiscal responsibility within approved budgets.
- Authorize program purchases of equipment, services, and supplies and approve related expenditures from direct reports.
- Ensure resources are deployed efficiently and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Development and CEO to support fundraising efforts related to programming initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, event planning, or related field.
- Prior supervisory and management experience required.
- Jewish communal or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, staff development, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Depth of Jewish knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as programming requires.

Salary:
$85,000 - $95,000
